Library Services

Serving Every Academic Need.

The Richard Ondeng' Library offers a wide range of services designed to support research, learning, and academic excellence for all members of the PAC University community.

From reference assistance and borrowing privileges to computer-based resources and information literacy training, our dedicated staff is always ready to help you make the most of everything the library has to offer.

What We Offer

Six core services available to all registered library users at the Richard Ondeng' Library.

Reference & Information Services

The library staff is always available and ready to assist all library users in any kind of reference and information inquiry. Library users are trained by staff regarding collection arrangement and research topic searching using the online catalog. They are also guided on how to utilise the various types of reference services to their benefit.

Borrowing & Lending

All registered members of the library — including students, faculty, and staff — may borrow circulating materials from the library. Other people with authority from the University Librarian may use the library but do not have borrowing privileges. KOHA Library Management Software manages the circulation of library materials and allows for titles in demand to be reserved for a user once they become available.

Current Awareness & SDI Services

Current awareness service is provided through the display of new titles received and through e-mail updates. Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) service is also offered to target groups through e-mail and verbally, ensuring users stay informed about resources relevant to their specific areas of interest.

Computer-Based Services

Resources are managed for access and circulation through the automated program KOHA. Computers are provided for both clients and staff. E-mail and internet services are available including electronic data transfers. A computer lab is available for access to electronic databases and academic journals.

Information Literacy Skills

The library staff teaches information literacy skills to students. Through this service, users are exposed to various sources of information and instructed on how to properly utilise them for research purposes, building the skills needed for independent, effective academic research.

Organisation of Materials

The materials in the library are arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification Scheme (LCC). The resources are catalogued using the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), ensuring all materials are easy to locate and consistently organised across the collection.
